BrightLINQ™ Activation Steps

STEP 1: Receive Your BrightLINQ License Certificate

After purchasing a license, you will be sent an a License Certificate number for BrightQ™ that will enable the PlanetPress features in the software. Keep this information secure. It can also be retrieved by logging in to our license server after activation has been completed.

STEP 2: Register with the BrigthQ™ License Server

If you have not done so already, you will need to create a new customer account on the BrightQ License Server. You will use your login and password to activate the license in the software later. A single account can hold a number of BrightQ licenses, so there is no need to register again if you already have an account with us.

STEP 3: Download BrightQ™ SE

Download the BrightQ™ installer for your operating system. You will get an executable file with a .run extension, which needs to be copied to the target UNIX system.

STEP 4: Installation

To start the installation process, run the downloaded archive through the sh command.

sh brightq-se-2.5.5-*-2013-05-17.run

STEP 5: Launch the BrightQ Configuration Tool

Launch BrightQ™ by entering codehost-config at a terminal prompt. If this is the first time the program has been launched, you will be automatically prompted to run the License Manager. Note that you need administrator privileges to create and administer printer queues.

STEP 6: Activate the BrightQ License

Click on the License Activation button, and enter the Certificate Number that was emailed to you, as well as the email address and password you registered with in the first step.

Note: If you have already run the BrightQ Configuration Tool, go to the File > License Manager menu item, or run the codehost-license command.

BrightQ™ will validate your license and download the appropriate files to your system. Relaunch the BrightQ configuration tool to set up your devices with BrightLINQ™.

PlanetPress features need to be enabled for the print queue on the system for the features to be available.
